Homecoming 2023

A celebration of 90 years of the Band of the Hour and the 40th anniversary of the first national championship!

You must be a member of the Band of the Hour Association to sit and march with the band at Homecoming.  

We will be wearing the green golf shirts which are available for $25 purchase.  If you ordered one during registration, please purchase below prior to homecoming to streamline registration.

Thursday

Meet & Greet  6-8pm  at the Mayfair Hotel Rooftop, Sipsip Calypso Rum Bar (3000 Florida Avenue, Coconut Grove, FL 33133)

Mingle with fellow alumni and friends. Appetizers and drinks available for purchase.

Daily Rate: $15

Parking is also available at street meters and there is a parking garage across the street.



Friday

  • Luncheon  12-2pm (Knight Center for Music Innovation)
  • Registration and Instrument Pickup  2:30-3:30pm

  • Hall of Fame Ceremony  5:00pm

Campus Parking
Register your license plate using the button below.  Type in Code 9035.

This will allow you to park in all zones EXCEPT Purple starting at 7:00am on Friday, October 27.  Park in Purple zone only after 2:00pm Friday.

Saturday

Game Day - UM vs. Virginia 

Arrive for Bus Transportation  11:00am
Busses Depart Campus  11:30am sharp!

Tailgate Pep Band  2:30pm
Meet at the Fan Zone on the south side of the stadium. Alumni welcome to play.

Kickoff  3:30pm


Bus Info:

Meet at Band Hall.  You must have already signed up when you registered to ride the busses to the game. We are at capacity and do not have any more room on the busses.


Game Info:

Tickets: You must have a ticket (any section) for the game to get into the stadium. You will receive a wristband at registration on Thursday or Friday to get into the band section. 

Parking: Parking passes can be purchased in advance from UM or a third party.

Stadium Bag Policy: One bag that is clear plastic, vinyl or PVC and does not exceed 12” by 6” and 12” or a one-gallon clear plastic freezer bag (Ziploc bag or similar).
In addition to one of the clear bags noted above, fans may also carry in a small clutch bag or purse approximately the size of a hand, with or without a handle or strap.


Arrangements will be made for band staff to bring in large instruments.  If you have trouble getting through security with a smaller instrument, we will provide a phone number to call someone in the Band of the Hour Association who will assist.

The Band of the Hour Association is an affiliate group of the University of Miami Alumni Association.  It is a separate entity from the University of Miami and is comprised of volunteers who give their time and effort to fundraise and support the University of Miami and the Band of the Hour in collaboration with the University, the UMAA, and its respective policies.
